The upcoming album Stormvingar promises a full folk metal journey inspired by Swedish folklore and Grimner’s own interpretation of Norse mythology. Their sound continues to blend the aggression of old-school melodic death metal with Nordic folk traditions, alongside elements of classic heavy and power metal — a fusion that has become Grimner’s unmistakable trademark.
With new blood in their ranks and the iconic voice of returning member Marcus Asplund Brattberg, the band conjures the power of a storm-torn ocean, heralding a new chapter in their saga.
Lyrics
Träldomens Far
[Musik av Ted Sjulmark; Text: av Anton Elowson & Axel Elowson]
Vers
En gång, längs gröna vägar
Kraftfull kunnig asagud
Vandrar mellan gårdarna
Förklädd i grånad vandringsskrud
Han råder hjon vid härden
Men tager husbonns brud
Vers
En kalv står kokt på bordet
Ypperst där bland kräslighet
Elden lyser Aes hus
Och lusten kring vad guden vet
Tinar Eddas lemmar
Nu brinner åtrån het
Pre-chorus
Rig reser sig stilla
Han ser hennes vilja
Till sängs men ej till vila
Och på vardera sida av salens hjon
Refräng
Giv er till Träldomens far,
Både åldrig och stark
Låt honom mättas utav er föda
Och beträda Eddas mark
Lyss varje adelsman och karl
Rig väntar eder snart
I bädden dröjer tre dagar och går åstad
Stick
Amma blir till Moder och Moder föder Jarl
Rig blir åter Heimdal, hans namn skall gå i arv
Pre-chorus
Refräng
I Midgård trenne gånger om
Skola Rig nu bliva man
Låt honom sprida sina sådor
Må sen spad få va´ i spann
Åter vid Bifrost, Heimdalls härd
Skall han vakta asars värld
Oooh!
Giv er till Träldomens far
Både åldrig och stark
Låt honom mättas utav er föda
Och beträda Eddas mark
Lyss varje adelsman och karl
Rig väntar eder snart
I bädden dröjer tre dagar och går åstad
The Father of Thraldom
(Träldomens Far)
[Music by Ted Sjulmark; Lyrics by Anton Elowson & Axel Elowson]
Verse
Once upon a time, along verdant roads
Powerful, cunning Aesir
Wanders between the farms
Disguised in graying travel clothes
He advises servants by the fire
But takes the master’s wife
Verse
A cooked calf stands on the table
Superb among overabundance
The fire lights Ae’s house
And the lust among what the god knows
Thaws the limbs of Edda
Now the desire burns hot
Pre-chorus
Rig slowly rises
He sees her willingness
To bed, but not to rest
And on each side of the servants of the hall
Chorus
Give yourselves to the Father of Thraldom
Both elderly and strong
Let him be satiated by your food
And enter the ground of Edda
Listen all nobles and karls
Rig awaits you soon
Abides in bed for three days and wanders off
Bridge
Amma becomes Moder, and Moder births Jarl
Rig becomes Heimdall again, his name will be inherited
Pre-chorus
Chorus
Thrice in Midgard
Rig will become a man
Let him spread his seed
And may the broth stay in the pail
Back by Bifrost, Heimdall’s hearth
He shall guard the world of the Aesir
Oooh!
Give yourselves to the Father of Thraldom
Both elderly and strong
Let him be satiated by your food
And enter the ground of Edda
Listen all nobles and karls
Rig awaits you soon
Abides in bed for three days and wanders off
